Unlocking the potential for regeneration in complex wound care

Costly complex wound care

Complex wounds can affect anyone, anywhere, at any age. These wounds are challenging to heal because simple suturing is not possible due to loss of skin tissue. Current management approaches are based on the concept of substituting the missing tissues, either by harvesting and transposing tissue from healthy donor sites, or by implanting exogenous matrices.

Complex wound care represents 2-4% of healthcare spending in high-income countries (approximately $150B in the US, €15B in Germany, and €9B in France annually).

Over 80% of these expenditures are labor-driven, reflecting the massive mobilization of healthcare professionals required by current care pathways.

Indeed, current care relies on invasive treatments that are highly repetitive and prolonged, often extending over several weeks, or months.

Ambition

Kaptory’s approach aims to transform care wherever tissue healing is a critical challenge. Our approach follows a progressive trajectory, with technological complexity scaling as clinical indications expand.

Severe finger wounds, where the quality of healing determines function and which provide a relatively simple and rapid first indication for device development

Extension to all hand injuries, the most frequently injured anatomical site

chronic wounds, particularly diabetic foot ulcers, which represent one of the greatest challenges in wound care.
